No More Sad Songs
My favorite movie is on TV today...well.. it was my favorite movie in my single mom days. "Hope Floats". I was watching it and listening to some of the great music and thought to myself "I should make myself a CD of my favorite sad/slow/love songs". (I had the soundtrack to the movie but it was stolen.) Why would I make a CD full of sad/slow/love songs? Well, to have something to cry to, of course. And then it hit me so hard. I don't need stuff like that any more!!! I am SO happy!! I am SO blessed that Rick is in my life. He's such a great husband, friend, dad...ect. Yea for me!!! I don't need/want to make or have sad/slow/love songs anymore!!!

Excited?
CrazyMama posted some things today that got her super excited... I commented on her blog of what gets me super excited.
Obviously... new updates on the Jimmy Eat World website...especially when they say they are touring and will be somewhere close by!!
Other things:
*When Rick and I get go to go out of town by ourselves
*Listening to Bryton and his friends "try" to form a band. I think today I'll make them practice in the garage.
*Watching Mykalin play with her little sisters
*Seeing Rylee singing and dancing (when she thinks no one is around)
*Dylin waking up first thing in the morning to snuggle with her mama.
*Everytime Lyndee laughs and smiles..which is a lot. She's such a happy baby. She's starting to walk! I"m not sure if that makes me excited...or sad that she's growing up so fast.
How about you?

Upstairs snuggling with Rylee before bed (ritual):
Rylee: I just realized why moms have to be so bossy
Me: Why (chuckling to myself)
Rylee: Because if they aren't bossy everything will be a disaster (word of the day)
Me: That's right. But mom's are bossy because we love our children
Rylee: I know and they don't want us to be a mess.
Me: Good night Rylee. I love you.

A couple...
So much to do...So little time
I don't even know where to start with this post. So much has happened this month. First I want to say how thankful I am for my health and for the health of my husband and the health of my children. I feel so blessed for this. And I thank my Father in Heaven every night for this. I am thankful for 5 wonderful children who love me. I am thankful for parents that raised me in the Gospel. I am thankful for brothers and sisters and inlaws that are patient with my flaws (or characteristics...as I call them). I am so thankful for a husband who is patient with me when I serve others, who is worthy to give our family a blessing when we are in need and who is always teaching us gospel principals. Rick is an amazing person.
Ok... enough of that :)
Last Monday, Rick and I took Bryton and Mykee snow boarding. We had a great time and decided that we want to be a snowboarding family! (Rick won't give up his ski's, tho) Bryton was flying down the mountain behind Rebecca! I was so impressed with his natural ability of not being afraid!! I, on the other hand, was afraid. I don't like pain. And the last time I snowboarded, that's exactly what I felt. But Rebecca was a very patient instructer and by the end of the day, I actually felt like I knew what I was doing. We put Mykee in a class and I thought after one day, she'd hate it. She LOVED it and can't wait to do it again. I am so proud of her! Rick loved skiing the slopes, but after lunch, he discovered that one of his boots had cracked. He was able to do another run or two, but then he had to quit. I guess ski boots don't last forever :) I'll post pictures as soon as I can get them off my camera.

Christmas
The SMIGBY HOP OVER
For Christmas, the Smiths (next door neighbors) brought some lumber and tools over to our house with 7 different designs on how they visioned the joining of our backyards. Today, Cord took Rick to Home Depot and they got to work. I have to say that I am pretty impressed with Rick's handy work (with help from Cord, of course). Building things is not Rick's favorite thing to do...especially on is day off. But Cord convinced him that it would be fun! I'm not sure how fun it was...but the kids are SO excited about it!!
This is the view from our backyard. The Smith's will have a swirly slide on their side. It's not finished...ladders will be added.

THANKS SMITH FAMILY!!!! We have GREAT neighbors...they are more than that! They are FRIENDS!!!!
